Sample Menus
People start restaurants for different reasons, but pretty much all of us do it—at least in part--to hear customers tell us how much they enjoyed their food. We’re lucky to have had many, many nice things said and written about us since we opened in 2003. Of all the compliments we’ve received, however, one of the best came from a couple who, after eating at the restaurant for months, asked us to cater their wedding. We were flattered, threw ourselves into the job, and before we knew it, there we were at Laguna Gloria, setting out steaming cazuelas of cochinita pibil and watching the happy couple try not spill salsa on their tux and gown.
A few more events followed: a company Christmas party with made-to-order tacos; another wedding, this time with uber hors d’oeuvres such as steak tartare, mussel shooters in kaffir lime broth, and duck spring rolls with raspberry-chipotle dipping sauce. Word got out and now we’re in the catering business.
If you’ve eaten at the restaurant you know our interior Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes are outstanding. Off-site, we can do most of that menu as well as the menu at our sister restaurant, El Chilito. If your occasion calls for something different, our executive chefs, Kristine Kittrell and Jeff Martinez, will be glad to discuss other options. They spent more than a decade in upscale restaurants in Texas, and can prepare everything from fine-dining to fajitas.
Catering is about more than food, however. We also arrange or provide bar service and equipment rental. We’ll set up, serve, break down and clean up. In short, we’ll take care of you. We want your event to be memorable. We want you to enjoy it. Really, we just want another compliment. We never get tired of those.
